Chemical Process Simulation
Half-Day event

September 20, 2023,
Van Nelle Fabriek (Rotterdam, the Netherlands)

Addressing chemical industry challenges through simulation, operator training and digital twin operations

We are pleased to invite you to join us at our Chemical Process Simulation Innovation Breakfast in Rotterdam next September 20, 2023, at Van Nelle Fabriek.

We’re gathering leading industrial innovators such as Witteveen Bos and BASF to tell you how they address some of the challenges the chemical industry is facing right now:

  • Sustainability is driving demand for new products, processes and operating standards
  • Energy costs are high, while transitioning to new energy sources has not happened yet.
  • Process innovation is critical to fast responses to the market
  • Economical optimum plants operations are increasingly complex
  • Experienced operators are aging, while new generations are demanding digital training and simulation-based knowledge transfer
This event will give you the opportunity to see how our growing range of technologies can help transform your business for sustainable success. From design, engineering and construction through to real-time operations management and asset performance, all underpinned with ‘best in class’ industrial information management – our products and solutions span the entire asset and operational lifecycle.

The event has been fully designed to help you experience what’s working, and what’s next in industrial software. You will get all the experts, business cases and insights you need in one single place.

Join us to learn how other peer companies are using our technology and services to progress and accelerate digital transformation across their own organisations.

Speaker:

Eliana Veloso Franco

Teamlead industry Strategy, Witteveen Bos

Eliana has over 17 years extensive international experience as senior process engineer. She started her professional career at the petrochemical sector, then moved on to offshore oil and gas production facilities in Norway and, in the last 7 years, has made the jump to the field of renewable energy and energy transition in the Netherlands where has been working with all kinds of projects-including green hydrogen- to decarbonize the industry. During all these years, she has developed all kind of engineering projects from feasibility studies to EPC projects. At Witteveen+Bos, she is the senior user of Aveva Process Simulation (APS) software which is used to simulate processes in steady and dynamic state for the industry.

Speaker:

Tom Boelen

Team lead APC, BASF Antwerpen

I started my career as Process Control Engineer at IPCOS, an APC service provider for the Oil & Gas and (petro)chemical industry. Acted as APC engineer globally in numerous baselayer control and advanced process control projects.
I joined APC team at BASF Antwerp in 2010. As we were frontrunners with our team within the BASF group, we introduced APC technology globally within the company.
Upon increasing the install basis of APC's, our team experienced more demand for OTS to be able to keep the experience level for operators sufficiently high. Maintenance of HiFi OTS as well as development of MiFi OTS is now part of our team's daily activity. Our APC team now focusses 50/50 on process control and OTS topics.
