Business Development for AVEVA PI Data Infrastructure, AVEVA

Joerg Triebnig holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Graz Technical University and brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of technology and business.

After more than 15 years in sales within the IT industry, he joined AVEVA (formerly OSIsoft) nine years ago as an account manager, supporting large enterprise customers across life sciences, pulp and paper, and chemical industries. His work has consistently centered on aligning business objectives with technological solutions to create measurable value.

Two years ago, he transitioned into business development for the PI System, focusing on Central and Eastern Europe while also contributing his expertise to AVEVA’s global PI business. His role emphasizes bridging commercial strategy and advanced data infrastructure to drive digital transformation.

Rafa Borges

OT Tech Lead for Energy, AWS

Rafa Borges is a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and serves as the OT Tech Lead for the Energy industry.

While he specialises in cloud architecture today, his background is deeply rooted in operational technology. Rafa is a Chemical Engineer by training and began his career with roles at industrial technology leaders like Siemens and EMC².

Most notably, he was part of the team at OSIsoft that developed the PI System. This unique "shop floor to cloud" expertise gives him a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities in migrating and optimising critical workloads like AVEVA PI on AWS.
