We hear from Juan Usón, Senior Optimization Engineer at Repsol talk about his own journey of Value Chain Optimization with Process Optimization.

Senior Optimization Engineer, Repsol

Juan holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Valladolid in Spain. He started his career in Técnicas Reunidas, as a Process Engineer. From there, he moved to Repsol where he has been working for the last 10 years. He has worked for both Chemical and Refining business. Currently, Juan is working in the headquarters Control and Optimization Department. He works in projects related with the control system update and improvement but mainly in the development of optimization projects in different refineries, including Multivariable Control System implementations and Real Time Optimizers applications.

Joachim Boese

Director, Digital Acceleration Consulting, AVEVA

Joachim Boese is Director, Digital Acceleration Consulting at AVEVA. He is working for more than 25 years in the Oil & Gas industry with experience both in international operating companies as well as consulting expertise with solution suppliers. Today Joachim is part of the Digital Acceleration Consulting team at AVEVA in the Oil & Gas space. Before joining Invensys in 2007 and now being part of AVEVA, Joachim worked for ConocoPhillips in their Wilhelmshaven Refinery and in Engineering, Operations and Planning & Scheduling for Deutsche Shell in their two German refineries in Hamburg and Cologne. Joachim holds a degree as Diplom Ingenieur of Clausthal University in Germany.
